How to Make Money in Mechanic Legends
Last updated:
Choose a way to earn that fits your repair skills and available cash, whether you prefer customer work, driving or restoring your own cars.
Make money by repairing customer cars, driving, or restoring and selling cars. Open Customer Jobs at the Workshop workbench and approve work on the shop tablet. The noticeboard's JOIN GROUP entry offers a $5,000 reward. Choose jobs within your repair budget, and deduct a car's purchase and restoration costs when calculating resale profit.
Choose an Income Method
| Method | Entry and budget | Best fit |
|---|---|---|
| Customer repairs | Open Customer Jobs at the Workshop and approve work on the shop tablet. Allow for the repair costs. | Earning through repairs that match your skills and funds. |
| Restore and sell | Buy a car, pay for its repairs, and sell it to the used-car dealer. | Working on your own project when you can afford both the car and its restoration. |
| Driving | Drive a car to earn money. | Earning while spending time on the road. |
| Group reward | Use JOIN GROUP on the noticeboard for a $5,000 reward. | Adding cash to your starting budget. |
If you want to make money through repairs, start with customer jobs you can afford and know how to handle. Choose a restoration project when you have enough cash to buy and repair a car yourself.
Find and Approve Customer Jobs
- Go to the Workshop workbench and open Customer Jobs.
- Review and approve waiting customer jobs on the shop tablet. A New Customer Jobs notification means customers are waiting for approval.
- Choose work that fits your repair skills and available funds, then repair the customer's vehicle to earn money.
Jobs differ in difficulty, so consider the work and the money you have available before approving one. For help identifying faults and using workshop equipment, see the car repair guide.
Get the Group Reward
Use JOIN GROUP on the noticeboard to join the group and receive the $5,000 reward. This is separate from the starting cash provided when you complete the tutorial's Wiring objective.
Driving Income and Earnings Passes
Driving earns money as you spend time on the road. Two passes target different activities:
- x2 Job Earnings doubles earnings from jobs and is the relevant pass if customer work is your main activity. It costs 695 Robux.
- x2 Driving Earning doubles driving earnings. Its game pass listing is off sale.
Compare these with the other paid benefits in the game passes guide.
Keep Restoration Spending in the Budget
For a completed flip, calculate net profit = sale proceeds − purchase price − actual restoration costs for the same car, using in-game dollars. Include replacement parts, rust removal, paint and any other spending on that project. A negative result is a loss.
A market-value estimate can help you assess a purchase, but compare your total investment with the dealer's actual offer before selling. See the car flipping guide for cost examples and the selling guide for reading and accepting an offer.
An Auction Garage is a separate budget risk: its rewards are random, so opening one does not guarantee a profit.
