Mechanic Legends Junkyard Guide: Buying Cars and Refresh Times
Last updated:
The Junkyard in Mechanic Legends sells cars you can repair, keep or resell. Inspect each listing and leave room in your budget for the work it needs.
Hold E beside a Junkyard car to inspect it, then choose Buy Now and Confirm to purchase it. Stock refreshes on a 12-minute cycle; watch Next Refresh for the next selection.

Inspect Before You Buy
Approach a car and hold E to open Inspect. Compare these fields before spending your cash:
- Listing Price: the amount needed to buy the car.
- Condition and mileage: details of the individual car's state and use.
- Damaged Parts and parts needed: the scale of the damage and the number of parts required.
- Est. Repairs: an estimate to consider when setting your repair budget.
- Market Value: an estimated value range, not a guaranteed sale price or profit.
For example, one 2004 Fujiro RXT was listed for $24,555 with 44% condition, 89,113 miles, 6 of 7 parts damaged and 2 parts needed. Its estimated repairs were about $3,300, while its market value was $31,000–$33,700. The listing price and repair estimate together come to approximately $27,855, before any other work.
Leave Cash for Repairs
For a low-budget first project, look for an Avelin C4 or C4 Wagon whose particular listing leaves money for repairs. With an $8,000 budget, a $4,000 listing leaves $4,000 after purchase; both models have appeared at that price. One Wagon at that price had 91% condition, 1 of 7 parts damaged and None under estimated repairs. These are individual listings, not fixed prices.
A Great Deal label is a reason to take a closer look, but compare the price and inspection details yourself. Likewise, None for estimated repairs does not mean every part of a restoration is free. For a more expensive car, leave cash for needed parts and any bodywork you plan to do.
If you intend to resell, compare the purchase price and likely costs with the market-value range before committing. See car flipping costs and margins for the full calculation, or car project picks for choices by budget and goal.
Confirm the Purchase and Get the Car Home
- Choose Buy Now on the inspection panel.
- Review the car and price in Confirm Purchase.
- Select Confirm to complete the purchase. The completed transaction cannot be undone.
- If the car starts and moves, drive it toward Your Garage and the Workshop for repairs.
Damage does not always prevent a car from moving. A 1998 Avelin C4 Wagon could leave the Junkyard with an engine limp mode warning caused by failing worn engine parts, and a damaged Nisho Z630 could still be driven despite needing an engine component. If your car displays a fault, use the engine problems guide to identify what needs attention.
The 12-Minute Stock Refresh
Junkyard stock refreshes on a 12-minute cycle. Watch the Next Refresh countdown: when it reaches zero, a new selection appears and the timer resets to 11:59. If the current cars do not fit your budget or project, wait for the next selection and inspect the new listings.
